THE MAKERS

Every summer, the Marchese family comes together to prepare tomato sauce from tomatoes harvested at the height of the season. What began as a practical way to preserve the harvest has become a cherished family ritual, repeated year after year and passed from one generation to the next.

Prepared for the family’s own use, the sauce was never intended as a commercial product. It is simply the sauce the Marcheses have always made for themselves. It is a tradition that reflects a distinctly Italian way of life, where food remains one of the simplest reasons to gather.

A MONO FIRST

Familia Marchese represents the first product created under the MONO name. Initially shared with a small group of MONOphiles, it offered an early glimpse of what MONO hopes to become: a platform for preserving and celebrating the people, traditions, and stories behind exceptional creations.

In many ways, it established the principles that continue to guide our collection—seeking out products with a genuine sense of place, a clear connection to their makers, and a story worth sharing.

Because production is tied to the annual harvest, Familia Marchese is available only seasonally and in limited quantities. Each year’s batch is prepared once, shared until supplies last, and awaits the next summer’s harvest to begin again.
